During the course
of the CRCD Program, a number of Research Experiences for Undergraduates
(REU) and Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) were offered.
These pages contain information related to these supplemental
programs.
Students participating
in the REU program were recruited from across the nation. They
came from diverse schools such as Prairie View A&M University,
Purdue University, the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology,
Texas A&M University, University of Maryland at Baltimore,
University of Rochester, and the University of Virginia.
The RET program recruited teachers from the NSF-funded Texas Rural Systemic Initiative (TRSI) as well as students completing their in-classroom externships. These teachers came from diverse backgrounds from the Houston Independent School District (H.I.S.D.) as well as the Progresso I.S.D.
